Welcome to Pobl Bach

At Pobl Bach we specialise in engaging young imaginations by providing a welcoming, safe and fun place for all our children to fulfil their potential. Instilling kindness and confidence, developing skills by investigating the world around us leads to busy days and happy children. Our aim is to provide families with high quality, flexible, bilingual care and an education embracing the principles of Early Years learning.

Healthy Start

Freshly prepared nutritious meals are prepared daily, by our in-house Chef and Nutritionist – ‘Fussy Eaters’ are never a problem.

Bi-lingual Learning

Learning through both Welsh and English at an early age gives every child the flexibility to choose their education in the future.

Outdoor Fun

Children love playing in the fresh air, whatever the weather! Come rain or shine, our children enjoy interacting and playing outdoors.

Parents as Partners

Upcoming Events on our calendar, social media and our new App provide multiple platforms for parents to become partners with us in the development of the child.

Learn Through Play

At Pobl Bach children learn through play. Interacting with friends, making decisions and expressing their personalities, are done through fun and focused activities.

Two Locations

With nurseries in Johnstown and Llangunnor, we offer a location to suit you in Carmarthen.

Nurturing children’s development

Personalised care and education is at the heart of our provision, and we believe that the children’s happiness, fun and laughter are key ingredients for a successful outcome. By providing a safe and stimulating environment children feel confident to explore and learn through new experiences. Our nursery staff are all role models and recognise that they lead by example and children are constantly learning through observation. Common courtesy, mutual respect and patience are demonstrated at all times and we set high standards for professional conduct and practice and aim to achieve excellence in all areas.

Outdoor learning and play

Outdoor learning and play in natural environments is promoted as an essential part of our philosophy. Our gardens have specialised safety flooring to minimise accidents and offer a variety of age appropriate equipment, as well as stimulating features and sensory play areas, such as sand pits, wildlife areas and playhouses. Climbing equipment, tricycles, tunnels and parachutes, and playhouses are all activities that we encourage to develop children’s motor skills, co-ordination and imaginative play.

Healthy choices

We know that a good start in life is essential for children’s long term health and well being. At Pobl Bach we provide a key role in promoting the mental, emotional and physical health and well being of the children in our care. We are actively following the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme and provide children with the opportunity to learn about nutrition through first-hand experiences wherever possible.

Capturing their progress as they grow

Parents are children’s first and most enduring role models and children learn from you, the parent. When parents and staff work together in early years settings, the results have a positive impact on children’s development and learning. “Unique moments” capture your child’s response to certain activities or events as they happen. All of your child’s experiences and “learning journeys” at nursery are recorded in their unique Progress Book, an ever developing time-capsule of their achievements and progression, which will be yours to look back on with fond memories for years to come.

Pobl Bach has implemented an innovative software system to assist in the smooth day-to-day running of each setting. With several touch screens installed throughout the properties, we are able to instantly record your child’s development throughout the day.

Daily activities, meals, nap times, nappy changes, milk feeds etc…. is all recorded with the touch of a button and then compiled into a report which is emailed directly to you, the parents, at the end of each day. This drastically reduces our paperwork enabling us to spend more quality time with the children.

A recent survey reported that adults check their phones every 6 minutes and look at their phones over 200 times a day, so we decided to utilise something that we all already do, taking “school – parent ” communication options way beyond the printed leaflet or the newsletter. Our nursery app is available for all parents, and will continue to develop and evolve, providing up-to-the-minute information on events, activities and nursery news. From within the app you will also be able to visit our Facebook and Twitter pages and see our latest school report and our fundraising activities.
