Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on learning and independence. Children are at the centre of what we do. We promote independence, and kindness and work with parents to support their children’s development.
Who
We Are
Pobl Bach got its start in Carmarthen in 2001, with the vision of providing safe, stimulating, and innovative care for children.
We decided to do things differently and create a space which prides itself on a colourful environment full of learning opportunities. Our bilingual staff support and nurtures children, recognising them as individuals.
We care for children from 0 to 5 years old at our nurseries, ensuring they have a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready to start school.
We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life as we encourage both exploration and discovery as well as emotional intelligence and building friendships.

Becoming Independent
Our staff enthusiastically work to prepare your child for “big” school.
We gently encourage pre-schoolers to become independent, encouraging activities like dressing and undressing, using the toilet independently, and washing hands. We actively support the Designed to Smile program, offering supervised toothbrushing and oral health education.
Fresh, Homemade Meals
All meals are freshly prepared with high-quality ingredients, onsite, every day.
We make sure that healthy and tasty food is always on the menu at Pobl Bach - and fussy eaters are never a problem!
Parents as Partners
We encourage parents to be a part of their child’s time at nursery. We use iPads to communicate through the Famly app with parents, allowing us to instantly record notes about a child’s activities and development throughout the day; allowing them to connect with their child’s nursery experience.
Upcoming events are also put on our calendar, social media, and new App to provide multiple platforms for parents to partner with us.
Merging Teaching and Childcare
We offer a variety of programs, including care for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers at our Johnstown and Llangunnor settings.
We believe that it’s never too early to start learning! We always provide opportunities for our children to learn and grow as soon as they join our nursery.
By developing our programs with curriculum experts and childcare specialists, we’ve been able to hone in on what makes early education a success and created a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.

Catherine is the Company Director. She supports all of the managers and the team. She has a lot of contact with the children and parents and provides the best possible care for the children of Carmarthen.
