Funded Places

at Pobl Bach

At Pobl Bach, we know that choosing the right childcare is one of the most important decisions you will ever make for your family. Alongside the peace of mind that your child is safe, happy, and learning every day, we also understand the practical need to make childcare affordable.

That’s why we are proud to take part in the Welsh Government’s Childcare Offer for Wales. This scheme provides funded childcare hours to help families with the cost of early years care and education. It has already supported thousands of parents across Wales to return to work, take on more hours, while knowing that their child is thriving in a nurturing, bilingual environment.

What is the Childcare Offer for Wales?

The Childcare Offer for Wales provides eligible parents of 3 and 4-year-olds with up to 30 hours of funded early education and childcare each week for up to 48 weeks of the year.

These hours are made up of:

  • A minimum of 10 hours of Early Education provided by your local authority

  • Up to 20 hours of funded childcare during term time, available at approved childcare providers like Pobl Bach

  • Up to 30 hours of funded childcare during school holidays

The offer is designed to make quality childcare more accessible so that parents can use the money they save for the things that matter most to their family.

How Funding Works

at Pobl Bach

We believe in clear, consistent childcare that works for both children and families. At Pobl Bach, funded hours are applied to set sessions only. This ensures stability for the children in our care and allows us to deliver high-quality early learning every day.

Session Options:

Full Day: 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM

Half Day (Morning): 08:00 AM – 01:00 PM

Half Day (Afternoon): 01:00 PM – 06:00 PM

Additional hours outside of these set sessions are available and will be charged at our standard hourly rate, as outlined in our current fee policy.

Important: Parents must select both “term time” and “holiday attendance” when applying for the Childcare Offer to secure their child’s place at Pobl Bach and to make sure that the correct allocation of funded hours is available across the year.

Holiday Provision

We know how challenging it can be for families to arrange childcare outside of term time. The Childcare Offer helps by providing up to 30 hours of funded childcare during holiday periods, for a maximum of 9 weeks per year.

During holidays, the same full-day and half-day sessions apply. Please note that the Childcare Offer only covers 48 weeks per year, which means that up to 4 weeks in August are unfunded. Families are responsible for fees during these weeks if they wish to maintain their child’s place.

Year-Round Contract

At Pobl Bach, we operate on a year-round childcare contract. This means that families receiving funded hours are committing to attendance across the whole year, not just term time.

- The funded hours provided under the Childcare Offer do not cover the full summer break.

- Parents remain contractually obligated to continue paying for their agreed plan during unfunded periods, unless they have given one month’s written notice before 1st July to reduce or end their contract.

- Non-payment of fees during unfunded periods will be treated as a breach of contract and may be referred to recovery channels.

This policy ensures fairness and consistency, and most importantly, guarantees your child’s space with us throughout the year.
